The CIO Source, Inc. presents LinkedIn Seminar

LinkedInOn the first three Wednesdays of April 2012, Matthew “ROI” Stern of The CIO Source, Inc. presented a workshop series on LinkedIn at the Middle Country Library in Centereach, NY.

This series provided the attendee with a good working knowledge of this popular Social Media site. The introductory session essentially covered the “What and Why” of LinkedIn, while the next two sessions concentrated on the actual use and tips of using the site. Each session was a helpful mix of both lecture and hands-on exercises to strengthen each point made.

“We were glad to get Mr. Stern back for a third season” states the Library’s Information Specialist, Salvatore DiVincenzo. “Last year, we had Matt do an introductory session, and it went so well that we had him do another two. Similarly, the students requested a third round, expanding the content” he adds.

Student evaluations contained such accolades as “Matthew Stern is an excellent instructor. Very knowledgable and entertaining. I would take another course with him again”, “Well done. I got from this class exactly what I needed and expected. Matt was very balanced between delivering real information and encouraging participation”, “Matt Stern is an excellent presenter who helped to convey some very helpful knowledge to be utilized as business tools & would recommend him highly”, “I thought Matt did an exceptional job presenting and explaining LinkedIn and its features. Kept the class light but never to the point where the subject was lost. Not an easy job teaching people with all levels of skill [in the same class], “The instructor did an excellent job catering to individual questions. That is what we need as an audience”.

According to DiVincenzo, “The Library will definitely have Mr. Stern back in the fall”.
